We are pleased to announce the release of MutualMind 1.7.5. Here are the highlights of this release:

Introduction of Advanced Listening Rules

With this release, MutualMind takes a giant leap forward in capability with the introduction of what we call “Advanced” listening rules. These rules allow you to use advanced operators like AND, OR, NOT and parenthesis to craft finely tuned listening rules. You can now write very sophisticated rules like the one below:

Verizon AND (
    (HTC AND (Bliss OR Rhyme OR Vigor))
OR
    (Samsung AND (Stratosphere OR "DROID Prime" OR Galaxy))
OR
    (BlackBerry AND (Curve OR PlayBook))
)

If you need something a little simpler, not to worry. We still support our classic-style rules. They are now called “Express” rules and you are free to use them to quickly get your social listening up and running.

To add either an Express rule or an Advanced rule, simply edit your campaign and click on “Add Express” or “Add Advanced”.

A couple of things to keep in mind when writing Advanced rules:

  • Always uppercase AND, OR and NOT operators
  • Make sure to balance parentheses when grouping conditionals together
  • Always enclose phrases in double quotes

In order to distinguish between Express and Advanced rule matches, we have modified the content browser to show color-coded keyword matches.

Express rule matches are displayed in orange and Advanced rule matches in red.
